This route follows Adventure Cycling Association Great Divide Route from Sparwood to Elkford. From Sparwood to the Line Creek Road this route is also identified in Bruce Obee's book The Trans Canada Trail-BC pages 331 to332. However the routing north of the Line Creek Road in Obee's book is on Highway 43. This non-highway option adds 12 km and 250m of additional elevation gain
