Kromeriz-Travniky-Kvasice-Otrokovice-Zlin 27km (Kromeriz, Zlin area)

It is a no brainer. Ehm? If you wake up on a sunny morning I think resistance is futile! Grab your bike and go there. Overcast? What are you waiting for? Is it snowing? Ok. A little hesitation is justified. But... You end up anyway to ride your bike :).

This bikeroad has a luxurious tarmac surface. The all season maintenance is a standard (grass mowing, snow plowing). It starts in Kromeriz near a railway bridge. Continues around airfield (sightseeing flights). Next are Travniky farmstead. There is an impression that the road ends. You have to continue until the sight. You will see what is going on at the "end". You have to simply turn sharply left around the corner after the last building. There is a buffet, if you are hungry. Next follows a laser cutted 8 km passage until Kvasice village with a football field, pumptrack and a restaurant near by. This section can be problematic in winter time (november-january). There are forests all around surroundings and there could be logging. So this passage is then strictly closed. The funny thing is you will see the warning board at the very end of Travniky, so you already did 4-5 km from Kromeriz. You can turn around and choose an alternative path. Good luck in 10 cm snow :). Hundred meters after the bridge there is a place for launching kayaks. Anyway, the whole part in between Kromeriz and Otrokovice is full of fishermen, starting spring until late autumn. You can travel by a small motorised boat from Kromeriz until mentioned Kvasice's launch port as well. Next comes a small hydroelectric powerplant in front of Otrokovice city. This is a place of a campsite and water ski. Small RC model airfield is nearby.

In Otrokovice the Drevnice brook joins Morava river. So the road continues alongside Drevnice already toward Zlin. Otrokovice and Zlin are 10km far away. This section is starting to be significantly filled with a lot of people. Bikers, nordic walkers, inline skaters. A lot of runners. A saw a lot of scooters with different wheels diameters! They are very popular here. Definitely you will see a lot of wild ducks, golden pheasants, black cormorants, swans. A lot of rabbits and deer. And you can meet your shadow. No kidding. It happened to me a couple of times somebody sticked to me. Even after dusk. The bike path is quite windy so few specimen did not bothered to take advantage of my power. I started to carry a secret mirror to get rid of them by pretending I am not aware of them and starting gradually increase the speed. It was very funny! :).

At the beginnig of Zlin there is a water purifier facility. The bikeroad is getting very close to the level of Drevnice. In summer nowadays there could be a flood. In Zlin there is a lot of bikepaths. The road ends in the city centre. This road is far from boredom, it is actually full of events, in every season. You can have your road or trek bike.
