Counties Cycle Classic will be held each year a couple of weeks ahead of the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge – another Rotary initiative. Our event which runs through some of New Zealand’s richest growing country with spectacular scenery gives cyclists a chance to blow out the cobwebs in preparation for Taupo, or just enjoy a day’s ride in the picturesque Franklin countryside.

The rides start and finish at the Pukekohe Intermediate School,44-74 Queen, Pukekohe 2120 and go west of Pukekohe on roads with very little traffic and great scenery. There is a short stretch on the Pukekohe – Waiuku road that has a moderate level of traffic then it’s all nice quiet country roads. All roads are sealed and open to the public with the exception of the start in Station Road when the road is closed. Care is needed at all times. and road rules must be obeyed. Cyclists must not cross the centre line and where there is no centre line you must keep to the left side of the road.
