Saint Patrick na rowerze

This route takes the you up to the radio mast station on the hill top just east of St Katherine's - Grenada's highest point. It's concrete all the way to the top and must be the highest piece of paved road on the island too. It must be the steepest too. Last km averages 25% but there are decent sections well over 30%. The GPS gave a top reading of 44%! I didn't manage to ride up this - the descent is very hairy too. But it's a great climb with brilliant views that just get better as you get higher. At the top there is a ridge hiking trail to St Katherine's. Short sections are off road and muddy. Total ascent 1,900ft

A hard ride just under 40 miles with some challenging climbs. Couple of hills between Tivoli and Sauters then climb to Chantimelle. Last part coming other way is steep! A few ups and downs along the coast to Gouyave. From Gouyave climb to Clozier, gradient is uneven all the way but max must be over 15%. Road to Birchgrove is extremely scenic, fortunately mostly steep descent. From there its another 1,000ft + climb to Grand Etang. Road bikes with low gearing will struggle up the hills.

a 14 mile circuit from Petite Anse Hotel at the very north end of Grenada. Starts by following coast south before climbing into the hills up to around 1000ft (300m). There is plenty of hill on this trail but the scenery and views are stunning as you ride through cocoa, nutmeg and forested areas. Finish with a very cold beer or drink back at the hotel!
