Looking for a solid day ride with a mix of Taiwan’s countryside charm and city vibes? Kick things off in Daxi, a town known for its old streets, wooden furniture heritage, and famous tofu snacks. From there, saddle up and make your way on mostly quiet roads and paths, weaving through rolling farmland and gentle hills.

You’ll cover just over 61 km—enough to get your heart pumping, especially with nearly 675 meters of climbing along the way. Keep your eyes peeled for glimpses of lush rice paddies and distant hills. You’ll enjoy more descending than climbing overall, peaking around 394 meters in elevation before dropping towards the coast.

Most of the ride runs on quiet roads and designated cycleways, so you’ll get to soak up the scenery without too much traffic hassle. After 4-5 hours (depending on your pace), you’ll roll into Hsinchu, a vibrant tech city with great food and a lively old town. Grab a bowl of Hsinchu’s famous rice noodles to celebrate your ride!
