Looking for a scenic ride from the northern port city of Keelung down to the bustling capital of Taipei? This 35 km cycling route is a fantastic mix of coastline views, gentle climbs, and a few zippy descents. You’ll start your adventure in Keelung, a city famous for its night market and rainy weather—so you might want a rain jacket just in case!

The route is mostly on dedicated cycleways and quiet roads, making it friendly for both newer riders and seasoned cyclists after an easygoing day trip. There’s a bit of a climb near the start (max elevation just over 100 meters), but nothing too tough—mostly rolling hills as you leave the harbor behind.

The last stretch rolls you right into Taipei, where the riverside parks, modern cafés, and towering Taipei 101 await. Surfaces are mostly paved or asphalt, but about two-thirds of the path's exact covering is undefined, so expect a bit of variety.
