This ride takes you from Keelung, Taiwan’s bustling port city on the northeast coast, all the way to Banqiao District in New Taipei City. You’ll travel just over 55 km, mostly sticking to cycleways and quiet roads—so it’s a pretty relaxed adventure, perfect for soaking in the local scenery. Along the way, the route twists gently through rolling hills (expect around 380 meters of climbing—nothing too intimidating) and drops you back down close to where the rivers run wide.

Most of the ride is nicely paved, so your tires will thank you, but about 59% of the surface isn’t specifically marked—expect a mix of smooth asphalt and maybe a few stretches a little rougher or less defined. You’ll leave behind Keelung’s famous night markets and historic harbor, cruise through the lush outskirts of New Taipei, and end up in Banqiao—a lively district known for its shopping, food, and the impressive Banqiao Station.
