This cycle route takes you from the heart of Almere Stad all the way down to Huizen, covering a bit over 20 km. Almere Stad, the modern center of Almere, is known for its contemporary architecture and plentiful green spaces—perfect for starting a relaxed ride.

You’ll mostly follow smooth, wide cycleways (about 84% of your route!) and shared quiet roads, so expect a peaceful spin without much traffic stress. The ride is super gentle when it comes to hills, with hardly any ascent—ideal for any level of cyclist.

As you roll south, you’ll enjoy the flat Flevoland countryside, passing through sections with some missing surfaces (so keep an eye out for the occasional rough patch), and mostly traveling on well-maintained asphalt paths. Arriving in Huizen, a charming town by the Gooimeer lake, you can reward yourself with a lakeside snack or a stroll by the water.
