This scenic ride takes you from the charming alpine village of Tauplitz, nestled in the beautiful Styrian Alps, to the spa town of Bad Aussee in the heart of Austria’s picturesque Salzkammergut region. Covering about 26 km, the route is mostly on quiet roads and lovely stretches of easygoing tracks, with minimal traffic and some great mountain views.

Expect a good workout—there’s a decent amount of climbing and descending, so you’ll get both a leg burner and some thrilling freewheeling along the way. The highest point hits just over 1,000 meters, so those panoramic moments are guaranteed! The surface is mostly paved or asphalt, but you’ll find a couple of brief gravel or unpaved bits that add a hint of adventure.
