Jednodniowa wycieczka rowerowa z Bad Gastein do Spittal an der Drau

This ride takes you from the dramatic spa town of Bad Gastein all the way south to Spittal an der Drau, winding through the beautiful Austrian Alps for about 66 kilometers. You’ll start at Bad Gastein, famous for its Belle Époque architecture and spectacular waterfalls that run right through the town center. After a bit of climbing (expect plenty of uphills—over 1,100 meters of ascent!), you’ll be rewarded with long stretches of descent as you glide southwards into the gentler valleys.

The route is a great mix of scenic quiet roads and easygoing cycleways, though keep in mind that about half the path’s surface is not clearly marked—expect a few surprises, but most of the way is on good pavement or asphalt. As you approach Spittal an der Drau, the mountains open up and the charming riverside town greets you. Spittal is well-known for its Renaissance castle, Schloss Porcia, and relaxed café culture—perfect for resting your legs at the end. Bring your camera and enjoy the incredible Alpine views!
