This cycling route starts in Perl, a scenic town nestled on the banks of the Moselle River where Germany, France, and Luxembourg meet. Perl is famous for its Roman Villa Borg and beautiful riverside vineyards. From here, you’ll ride just over 51 km northeast towards the historic city of Trier.

The ride is super pleasant, following mostly paved paths and quiet village roads alongside the river. The ascent and descent are pretty moderate, so you can settle in and enjoy the rolling Moselle valley scenery—lots of vineyards, medieval villages, and the peaceful flow of the river to keep you company. Most of your route is on smooth asphalt or concrete, perfect for a relaxed pace.

As you arrive in Trier, you’re ending in one of Germany’s oldest cities, packed with Roman ruins (don’t miss the Porta Nigra!). All in all, this is an ideal day tour for lovers of history, wine, and gentle riverside cycling.
