Bikepacking z Lubeka do Stralsund

Roll out from Lübeck’s UNESCO-listed Brick Gothic old town and marzipan cafés, then shadow the Baltic on the Ostseeküsten-Radweg toward Stralsund. It’s about 266 km and impressively flat (max around 60 m, roughly 1,000 m total climbing), mostly paved with long stretches of separated bike paths and quiet lanes. Expect some paving stones in historic centers and a few short unpaved bits.

If you hug the coast, highlights include seaside promenades at Travemünde and Boltenhagen, the Hanseatic harbor of Wismar, beach towns near Kühlungsborn and Heiligendamm, Rostock’s Warnow waterfront, and the Bodden lagoons around Ribnitz-Damgarten and Barth before Stralsund’s skyline appears over the Strelasund. Stralsund’s Brick Gothic gables and the Ozeaneum make a sweet finish—and it’s the gateway to Rügen if you’ve got gas left in the legs.

Prevailing winds off the Baltic can help or hinder; plan 3–4 relaxed days, pack a wind layer, and don’t skip a Fischbrötchen stop. Surface-wise it’s roughly 90% paved, mostly on paths and cycleways, with plenty of traffic-free riding.
