This leisurely ride takes you from Lichterfelde, a peaceful leafy neighbourhood in Berlin’s southwest, up to the lively Schöneberg district. Covering just under 8 km, the route weaves through mostly quiet roads and purpose-built cycleways, making for an enjoyable and stress-free trip—perfect whether you’re commuting or just out exploring.

You’ll start in Lichterfelde, known for its historic villas, lush streets, and the iconic Lichterfelde West train station—one of Germany’s oldest suburban rail stations. The journey’s a gentle one: a couple of small hills keep it interesting, but nothing too steep.

Heading north, you’ll transition to Schöneberg, one of Berlin’s most vibrant and diverse boroughs. Schöneberg has a rich history—David Bowie once lived here—and today it’s packed with cozy cafés, markets, and parks (Tempelhofer Feld is just to the east).

Most of your ride’s on smooth asphalt or paving stones, and about half is on low-traffic side streets, with stretches of dedicated cycle path. All in all, it’s a great snapshot of the less touristy, local sides of Berlin.
