Jednodniowa wycieczka rowerowa z Gunzenhausen do Treuchtlingen

This scenic ride takes you from Gunzenhausen, a charming town at the western end of the Altmühlsee, all the way south to Treuchtlingen, famous for its centuries-old spa tradition and proximity to the Altmühltal Nature Park.

Covering just under 30 km, most of the ride is on paved and quiet country roads, with some sections of track and a few stretches of gravel to keep things interesting. The terrain is mostly gentle, so you won’t have to worry about any big climbs—expect about 80 meters of ascent and a little more descent as you head down toward Treuchtlingen.

The route flows through the peaceful Franconian landscape, passing fields, forests, and the meandering Altmühl River. Gunzenhausen marks the start of the Altmühl Valley Cycle Path, one of Bavaria’s best-loved bike routes. When you arrive in Treuchtlingen, treat yourself to a soak in the city’s famous thermal baths or enjoy a stroll through the historic old town.
