Bikepacking z Donauwörth do Füssen

This scenic cycling trip takes you from historic Donauwörth all the way to Füssen, covering about 169 km with lovely views and a mix of terrain. Donauwörth sits right on the spot where the Wörnitz meets the Danube and is known for its beautiful old town and colorful Reichsstraße. Leaving the town, you’ll mostly cruise on paved and asphalt surfaces, following quiet roads and bike paths — ideal for soaking in the passing Bavarian countryside.

The ride is gently rolling for most of the way, with nearly 1,000 meters of ascent as you approach the edge of the Alps. You’ll pass through small villages and fields, with the foothills slowly building up around you. Save a snack for the last stretch: Füssen lies at the base of the mountains, famous for its fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle just nearby, and marks the end of the epic Romantic Road. All in all, it’s a perfect long-distance ride blending culture, nature, and a dash of adventure.
