Get ready for a scenic ride! Starting in the lively river town of Deggendorf—right by the banks of the Danube—you’ll wind your way southeast toward the charming Austrian border town of Schärding. The route is around 77 km, mostly on paved and asphalt surfaces, but you’ll hit some gravel stretches too, so a hybrid or gravel bike is recommended.

This ride gently rolls through classic Bavarian countryside, with just under 400 meters of total ascent—you’ll definitely feel it, but nothing too wild. About a third of the way is on quiet farm tracks and cycle paths, keeping things peaceful. Along the way, you’ll pass lush fields, small villages, and, of course, those endless river views.
