Starting in Buxtehude, with its picturesque half-timbered houses and legendary tale of the “Buxtehude hare and hedgehog race,” you’ll mostly roll along smooth paths and quiet roads; almost all of the route is paved, so no worries about rough terrain.

The 11 km journey is nice and flat, and as you cycle, you’ll pass countless fruit orchards—especially pretty in spring blossom or autumn harvest. At the end, you’ll arrive in Jork, a lovely little town known for its apple festivals and old farmsteads. Take time to explore its waterfront or grab a fresh juice at a local stand!
