Roll out from Strasbourg’s historic center—home to the soaring Notre-Dame Cathedral and the European Parliament—and point your wheels north toward Germany. You’ll cruise the flat Rhine plain, crossing the river near Kehl on a bridge with dedicated bike access, then follow quiet paths and farm tracks through riverside forests and fields toward the foothills of the Black Forest.

The ride is about 66 km with only ~180 m of climbing, so it’s an easygoing day in the saddle. Surfaces are mostly paved, with a few short gravel sections—great for touring or wider road tires. Expect a calm route: plenty of tracks and paths, some quiet roads, and the occasional cycleway along levees.
