Get ready for a classic Alpine adventure! This ride starts in Huez, a village perched above the famous Alpe d’Huez climb—one of the Tour de France’s most legendary finishes and a mecca for cycling fans from all over the world. From here, you’ll wind through the breathtaking landscapes of the French Alps on mostly paved roads (but keep an eye out for a few gravel and unpaved stretches).

The route is about 85 km, but don’t let the distance fool you—the nearly 3,000 meters of climbing will test your legs. The ride takes you over high mountain passes, with a max elevation above 2,000 meters, before dropping you into Briançon. Briançon is not just any finish line: it’s the highest city in France and famous for its UNESCO-listed Vauban fortifications.
