Rowerowa z Szombathely do Ják

This route starts in Szombathely, a lively city with ancient Roman roots (it’s the oldest city in Hungary!), and winds south to the peaceful village of Ják. Expect a comfortable ride of just over 17 km—ideal for a laid-back half-day escape.

You’ll leave city streets behind for mostly quiet tracks and country roads, rolling through gentle farmland with low hills (nothing too tough). While much of the route is unmarked or has missing surface info, anticipate stretches of both paved and gravel sections, so a hybrid or gravel bike is your best bet.

Ják is best known for its impressive Romanesque abbey church—one of Hungary’s medieval architectural gems, definitely worth a quick stop.
