Rowerowa z Leányfalu do Szentendre

Roll out from Leányfalu’s leafy Danube promenade and hop on the signed riverside bike path heading south. It’s an easy 7 km spin, mostly flat and paved, with a few gentle rises and a short cobbled stretch as you approach town. The route runs on a dedicated cycleway alongside the river and parallel to Road 11, then slips onto quiet, traffic‑calmed streets into Szentendre.

Leányfalu is known for its thermal bath and relaxed riverfront—great for a pre‑ride dip in summer. Szentendre, your finish, is a beloved artists’ town: baroque facades, Serbian Orthodox church towers, galleries, and excellent ice cream along the Danube promenade. You’re essentially following the Danube cycling corridor (part of EuroVelo 6), so signage is good.

Tips:

• Weekends can be busy near Szentendre’s old town—watch for pedestrians on the cobbles.
• Plenty of cafés and terrace spots by the river.
• For an easy return or onward trip, bikes are usually allowed on the HÉV suburban train from Szentendre to Budapest (check current rules).
