Szablon trasy
Roll out of Vigo and point your bars northeast along the Ría de Vigo. The route is about 20 km and decidedly hilly, with roughly 600 m of climbing and a high point around 420 m. Expect a steady grind out of the city on quiet backroads, then some glorious balcony sections with big views over the estuary (Cíes Islands on a clear day). After the ridge, enjoy a long, winding descent toward Redondela.
Surfaces are mostly paved with a few short cobbled bits; the riding sticks largely to quiet roads with some cycleway stretches and very little busy traffic. Low gears and good brakes will make this one extra fun.
Vigo is Galicia’s largest city and a major Atlantic fishing port—great spot for a pre-ride coffee by the waterfront. Redondela, at the head of the ría, is known as the “villa dos viadutos” for its striking railway bridges and sits on the Portuguese Way of the Camino de Santiago. Post-ride, refuel with local seafood (if you see choco on a menu, that’s the town favorite).
