Bikepacking z Krimml do Schärding

This cycling route takes you on an epic journey from the scenic village of Krimml—famous for the breathtaking Krimml Waterfalls, the tallest in Austria—through the heart of the Austrian countryside, all the way to the charming town of Schärding on the Inn river near the German border.

You’ll cover around 275 km, so make sure to pack snacks and plenty of energy! The ride is quite hilly at the start, with over 2,700 meters of climbing (and even more downhill, lucky you) as you leave the Alps behind. You’ll spend most of the journey on peaceful roads and dedicated cycleways, passing through lush valleys and picturesque towns. About two-thirds of the ride is on smooth asphalt, with some scenic gravel sections—perfect for a bit of adventure.

At the end, you’ll roll into Schärding, famous for its colorful baroque old town and riverside cafés, the perfect spot to relax and recover. This ride is a wonderful way to experience Austria’s natural beauty and friendly small towns—definitely one for the bucket list!
