Roll out from Bello, a northern neighbor of Medellín known as the gateway to Cerro Quitasol, and aim south through the Aburrá Valley. The route is about 16 km and mostly smooth asphalt, mixing quiet neighborhood streets with stretches of cicloruta near the Medellín River. Expect rolling terrain: roughly 420 m of climbing with some punchy ramps and gentle descents, topping out around 1,646 m—pace yourself if you’re not used to the altitude.

You’ll hit a couple of busier crossings, but most of the ride feels calm and local. Keep an eye out for the Metrocable gliding above the hills and, as you near the city, the green corridors of Parques del Río.

Finish in Medellín, the “City of Eternal Spring,” famed for its mild climate, bold urban innovation, and Botero’s larger-than-life sculptures downtown. Perfect spot to wrap up with a tinto or fresh juice. Pro tip: lights for underpasses and a bell for pedestrian areas help; traffic can be lively near the center.
