Get ready for a classic Bay Area ride! Starting in the heart of San Francisco, you’ll weave your way through the city, gradually making your way north. Once you reach the waterfront, it’s time for the star attraction: cycling across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge! This stretch offers legendary views of the bay, Alcatraz, and, on clear days, the Marin Headlands.

There’s a solid bit of climbing (over 400 meters of ascent), but the vistas are worth every pedal stroke. After that, it’s almost all downhill—or at least feels that way—as you descend into the charming town of Sausalito. Once a fishing village, Sausalito is now famous for its houseboats, art scene, and waterside cafes—perfect for a post-ride coffee or a well-earned snack.

Most of the ride is on paved and asphalt surfaces, mainly quiet roads and dedicated cycleways, so you can soak up the scenery. Don’t forget your camera and a jacket; San Francisco Bay can be breezy!
