You’ll cover just under 18 km, with some decent climbs (about 350 meters of ascent) and mostly smooth paved roads—perfect for a relaxed ride, with only a few rougher patches.

You’ll start amidst Sibiu’s blend of medieval towers, lively squares, and pastel-colored houses. Heading out of the city, the route quickly shifts to quieter cycleways and winding rural roads, with open fields and the Cindrel Mountains peeking in the distance. The ride is mostly on good asphalt, but expect to hit a few short, rustic farm tracks as you approach Poplaca.

Poplaca itself is a serene spot, set against a stunning mountain backdrop—a real switch from urban buzz to village calm. Take a break at the central church or explore the area’s traditional architecture before heading back or exploring further into the hills!
