The ride is about 8.8 km long, but be ready for some adventure: less than a quarter of this route is paved, so you’ll be rolling on tracks and paths through the rolling Transylvanian countryside.

Your journey starts in Poplaca, an old Romanian shepherd village famous for its traditions and scenery. The first part climbs steadily; expect close to 400 meters of ascent before reaching a max elevation of over 900 meters—so bring legs and lungs! After that, you’ll have a rewarding descent towards Gura Râului, a picturesque village sitting by a mountain lake, perfect for a rest or a quick bite.
