Get ready for a mix of climbs and dips—the route serves up over 600 meters of ascent, so you’ll definitely get your workout in amidst rolling Transylvanian hills.

You’ll start off amid the lively buzz of Cluj-Napoca, one of Romania’s most dynamic cities, famous for its student vibe and beautiful old town. Soon, city streets give way to quieter roads and gravel tracks (be prepared, as more than half of the route is on mixed or missing surfaces), offering glimpses of wide fields, forests, and the occasional sheep or horse.

Gilău makes a tranquil finish, with the Someșul Mic River nearby and easy access to the Apuseni Mountains if you’re up for more exploring. Pack some snacks, bring a puncture kit for those rough patches, and enjoy one of Cluj’s best countryside escapes!
