Cycling Route: Amara to Mamaia-Sat

This ride takes you from Amara, a quiet spa town famous for its therapeutic salt lake, all the way to Mamaia-Sat, close to Romania’s best-known Black Sea resort. Covering about 359 km, it’s a real adventure and perfect if you want to see the changing landscapes of the Dobrogea region—from rural countryside and gentle hills to coastal lowlands.

You’ll be on the bike for a long time (think multi-day tour), with over 2,500 meters of elevation gain. Most of your ride is along tracks and quiet backroads, so you’ll get plenty of peaceful stretches away from heavy traffic, though be ready for some unpaved and potentially rough surfaces (gravel and earth in places).

As you approach Mamaia-Sat, you’ll end near beaches and lively nightlife. It’s the ultimate reward after a big push—just don’t forget to celebrate with a dip in the Black Sea!
