Roll out from Budapest’s XIV. kerület (Zugló) by cruising through Városliget/City Park, then head northwest to Árpád Bridge. Cross to Buda and drop onto the Danube riverside cycleway (part of EuroVelo 6). From Óbuda up past Római‑part you’ll have classic riverside vibes, snack stops, and long car‑free stretches. Continue through Budakalász and follow the signed path straight into Szentendre’s Dunakorzó.

It’s roughly 28 km with only gentle ups and downs (about 80 m total ascent), and most of it is on dedicated cycle paths or quiet roads. Surfaces are mostly asphalt, with a few paving stones and some cobbles as you roll into Szentendre’s old town—mind the bumps.

Fun facts:

• Start: Zugló is home to Heroes’ Square and the Széchenyi Thermal Bath—worth a pre‑ride coffee lap through the park.
• Finish: Szentendre is an art lovers’ town with baroque streets, Serbian Orthodox churches, and a sweet stop at the Marzipan Museum. The HÉV suburban train can whisk you and your bike back to Budapest if you don’t feel like pedaling home.
