Here’s a lovely city ride that starts in Zugló (Budapest’s lively 14th district) and rolls south-west all the way to Újbuda, on the Buda side. Expect a gentle, mostly paved journey—ideal for a daily commute or a leisurely exploration.

You’ll pedal through mostly dedicated cycleways and quiet roads, so traffic is hardly an issue. Starting in Zugló, which is famous for its beautiful Városliget (City Park) and eclectic architecture, you’ll wind your way through urban landscapes and past local cafés. Cross the Danube to reach Újbuda, one of Budapest’s coolest districts, buzzing with youthful energy, universities, and riverside hangouts.

This ride is nice and flat, with only minor elevation changes—you’ll barely notice the climbs or descents. In total, the route covers about 12.5 km, and most surfaces are smooth asphalt, making it a comfortable cruise for any bike.
