This ride takes you from the lively residential streets of Budapest’s 20th district (XX. kerület), known for its community parks and traditional neighborhoods, all the way to the scenic elegance of the 2nd district (II. kerület) on the Buda side. Your 15.8 km route will have you pedaling across much of the city, gradually climbing about 220 meters—with a few gentle slopes that’ll wake up your legs but reward you with great views once you get closer to the hills of Buda.

Most of the route (a generous 82%) follows dedicated cycle paths, and the surface is mostly smooth asphalt or paving stones, so you can expect a comfortable ride. There are some short stretches where the surface is a bit rough or unfinished, but nothing a city bike can’t handle.

Starting in the quieter, working-class neighborhoods of Pesterzsébet, you’ll make your way towards leafy Buda, ending your journey in the upscale residential areas and green spaces of II. kerület—famous for its villas, cozy cafés, and access to the Buda hills. It’s a great way to see the changing face of Budapest from south to north!
