This cycling route takes you from the leafy neighborhoods of Budapest’s II. kerület (District 2) to the lively Óbuda-Békásmegyer area in District 3. Starting from the hilly Buda side, you’ll enjoy a gentle cruise with mostly downhill vibes – you’ll drop over 120 meters in elevation as you head north.

The ride is just over 7 kilometers, mostly on peaceful, quiet roads and dedicated cycleways, so it’s perfect if you’re not a fan of busy traffic. The route is almost entirely paved, with just a sprinkle of cobblestones to keep things interesting. You’ll pass through parks and residential zones, and maybe even catch glimpses of the Danube if you take a small detour.

Óbuda-Békásmegyer is one of Budapest’s oldest districts, famous for its Roman ruins and vibrant cultural life.
