Day 7, 66 miles from Clifden to Spiddal

July 19, 2002. It was raining quite heavily during breakfast and there was considerable gallows humour about the anticipated day. (The previous group had this weather on 5 of their 7 days.) We headed out in full rain gear and it maid the cycling barable, almost enjoyable in its novelty. At the grocery store in Roundstone, wher we were stocked up on lunch snack food, the cashier said the reprts were favourbable and, indeed we were able to remove the raingear at the rendezvous junction point after Cashel. Then to the 17 mile loop along the coast to Carna and Kilkieran and then continuing through increasingly busy rush hour traffic to Spiddle. We stayed at the An Cruiscin Lan Hotel and dined in Galway City.
