Drogi dzisiaj były w porządku, chociaż D667 była nieco zbyt ruchliwa… ale tylko według standardów francuskich dróg wiejskich, do których szybko się przyzwyczailiśmy. W miarę jak jechaliśmy na południe, ogólne pagórkowate tereny, które trwały od naszego startu w Chadurie, stały się ostrzejsze i bardziej strome, gdy przekraczaliśmy różne systemy rzeczne (np. Dordogne, Lot, itd.).

Tło: Moja żona i ja robimy wyprawy samodzielnie w Europie Zachodniej (głównie we Francji) od 1993 roku. Ta seria przejażdżek obejmuje naszą dwumiesięczną trasę z 2005 roku przez części Francji. Naszym punktem początkowym i końcowym jest w pobliżu Chaduri (na południe od Angoulême), gdzie nasi przyjaciele mają farmę z gites i chambres d'hôtes.

Jeździliśmy naszymi rowerami turystycznymi Dawes kupionymi w 1993 roku, mocno obciążonymi oponami 700Cx32. Cała nasza jazda odbywała się po utwardzonych drogach, przeważnie przy bardzo małym ruchu.
