Vammen Camping Bicycle Route 6 Fyrkat

This 21 km one-way cycling route from Vammen Camping takes you through peaceful forest roads and country landscapes toward one of Denmark’s most iconic Viking sites – Fyrkat.

The journey passes Klejtrup, Hvornum, and Nr. Onsild, where you ride past churches, under a railway viaduct, and along forest edges. The highlight is Fyrkat near Hobro – an excavated Viking ring fortress dating to around the year 1000, accompanied by a full-scale reconstructed longhouse showing daily life in the Viking Age.

Cyclists can choose to return the same way or loop back via Hobro and main roads toward Viborg. This route offers history, nature, and adventure in equal measure.
