10 Day 10, Le Lion-d'Angers - Angers

The final stretch of the route to Angers is very picturesque with several old mills by the river. The towpath after Le Lion is carved into the sandstone cliff and is often so wooded that the river can barely be seen through the trees. Approaching Angers, the towpath on the outskirts of the town is the roughest encountered along the whole route and it may be necessary to walk / push on occasions.
