Going North. Ripollet - Vic - Olot - Ripoll

Long and quite demanding rute, but very rewarding with beautiful views and landscape. From Ripollet (one can access Ripollet from Barcelona with Renfe line R4) road goes slightly uphill to Sentmenat, from where nicely road goes through two small hills and shallow valles to reach Calders de Montbui, from here there is uphill part, not to tough, but still over 400m to gain untill we leave the main road C59 to go on very calm and picteresque road C1413a and after few kilometeres more uphill, pleasant downhill to reach Centelles. Then the road pass  in parallel to the Motorway C13 and after that  a bit hilly area to reach Vic, it is worth making notes and go through the centre of Taradell and Vic and Manlleu, as it can save us few hundred meteres in each of the towns. Roads close to Vic are quite busy, but after Manlleu it is getting emptier and at uphill for Coll de Bracons (1130m) you can feel almost on your own (I went on one splendid April Saturday, and I met some 30 bikers, 5 motorbikes and maybe 4 cars between Sant Pere de Torello and Joanetes). Uphill very steep as well as downhill on the other site. To Olot flat and nice road and after Olot empty road and not to hard uphill, to reach Ripoll. From Ripoll trains to Barcelona departing almost every hour.

It is good idea to start the route early in the morning, to avid excessive trafic in Barcelona Metropolitan area.
