Ätradalsleden Cycle Route

Ride the Ätran Valley the easy way. Ätradalsleden links the west coast at Falkenberg with Ulricehamn inland, roughly 200 km of mostly paved riding on old railway embankments and quiet roads through Halland and Västra Götaland. Think gentle gradients, big forest views, lakes, and small towns like Svenljunga and Tranemo along the way.

It’s well signposted, great for a relaxed multi‑day tour or a family ride. Expect long car‑free stretches, with some short gravel bits—32–40 mm tires are perfect. Swim spots near Lake Åsunden, plenty of cafés and farm shops, and a coastal finish/start where it connects to Kattegattleden in Falkenberg.

Ride it either direction; public transport helps with logistics. If you want classic Swedish countryside with low stress and steady pedaling, this one’s a keeper.
