Hamburg NY to Dunkirk NY

We had to wait a day for this ride. Why, because we woke up to an inch and a half of snow on the ground, as shown in two of the attached photos. So much for this being already well into Spring in late April.

The first portion of the ride along New York Rt 5/Bicycle Rt 517 was a noisy four lane highway with a great shoulder. Fine to ride on, but not much to look at as long as you don’t mind the noise. Later, from Silver Creek, this portion of New York Rt 5/Bicycle Rt 517 was great with relatively little traffic. The road went along the coast periodically allowing some views of the lake. Nice.
