Welcome to stage 4 of The Castle Route – part of a 14-stage cycling journey across Fyn. This short but experience-rich stage takes you from Svendborg to Rudkøbing through the heart of the South Fyn Archipelago.

Over Svendborgsund
Leaving Svendborg, you cross the impressive Svendborgsund Bridge – an experience in itself with sweeping views of the water and passing boats below.

Tåsinge and Island life
On Tåsinge, you can take a detour through the idyllic village of Troense, known for its skipper houses and maritime charm. From here, continue to Valdemar’s Castle, one of Denmark’s most beautiful manor houses, surrounded by parkland and coastal scenery.

Nature and coastline
Back on the route, you cycle through peaceful landscapes with close views of the coast. Along the way, you pass bird reserves such as Vejlen and Monnet, as well as small harbours like Vornæs and Skovballe. The route continues across the small island of Siø and on to Langeland, offering open views, fresh sea air and a calm, steady ride on flat asphalt roads.

Arrival in Rudkøbing
Your stage ends in Rudkøbing, a charming market town known for its cobbled streets, colourful houses and relaxed atmosphere – a perfect place to pause and explore.

There are limited shopping opportunities along this stage, so remember to bring water and snacks – or stock up in Svendborg or Rudkøbing before you set off.
