Foresta della Lama

<span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102); font-family: arial, verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(168, 211, 240);">The "Foresta della Lama" (Lama Forest) lies in the heart of the National Park of the Casentino Forests, Mount Falterona and Campigna": a field situated at 699 m to which the bastion of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines drops down from the heights of Monte Penna (1333 m asl.) creating a landscape of steep woods and ravines and rocky ridges that contrast starkly with the gentle lines of the small plain with its tranquil streams. At the centre of a beautiful and richly varied forest at the edge of this plain there is a forestry station surrounded by exotic plants of exceptional size, such as an unusual hawthorn that is roughly 300 years old. From the hill alongside a small church it is possible to catch sight of the reservoir of Ridracoli that has integrated well into the landscape: one branch of the lake extends to lap against the forest and offers one of the most beautiful views in the Apennines. </span>
