south australia desert loop 1984, cook to peterbough

july - aug,   got off train  at cook, rode north originally planning to make it to giles,but after 4 days just too much sand even for my wide adapted tyres, , so went east , followed rail for awhile  crossed hwy,   flew  from bila kalina - stuart creek  with station owner in his light aiirplane,  he'd advised tracks were too sandy , then rode down flinders rangers ,  jumped on a bus at peterbough to go to melboune
