See markers for turn around locations   Every year the Limerick Triathlon Club organise a Triathlon on the grounds of UL in memory of fellow triathlete, friend & club member Joey Hannan. Joey was a true athlete, an elite before his time and one of 8 kids in his family. Each year this event is well supported by his siblings, nieces and nephews and his mum. Every Year the race is run from the grounds of UL thanks to the excellent staff and caretakers of the Grounds the facilities are excellent.  We run try-a-Tri/Novice, Junior Tri, Sprint & Olympic events in the same day. All races have a pool swim meaning that this race can run early in the Triathlon Calendar. It also means that you will not need to wear a wet-suit. The Bike and Run courses are relatively flat and well Marshalled, also making the race fast but safe and largely un-intimidating for the Newer triathlete.
