Über diese Route

This 26th section of St Ninian’s Way is mainly on the Forth and Clyde Canal towpath all the way to Kirkintilloch, passing a nature reserve and running parallel with Antonine Wall. Starting at St Mungo’s Cathedral, go west to join Castle Street, then North for 400 m where it meets a footpath going west. Take footpath through park 600 m until it joins North Wallace Street, then go North across Baird Street and under the motorway to T-junction with footpath in Sighthill Park (400 m). Go west to Craighall Road and bridge over the Glasgow Spur of the Forth and Clyde Canal (500 m). Cross bridge and go west along footpath to join the main canal tow path (200 m). Follow canal path north to junction with Forth and Clyde Canal (5 km) then cross over to north bank and continue east along towpath (Bike Route 754), past Possil Marsh Nature Reserve, to Cadder and junction with Antonine Wall (7 km) and then continue on towpath parallel to the wall to the centre of Kirkintilloch opposite St Mary's Parish Church (3 km).
