200810 S - Monmouth and Monnow Valley

dep 0800 along the E bank of the R Wye (traffic free) to Monmouth. Breakfast at Coffee Number One. Then out NW along the Monnow valley, occasionally crossing the river and the border, up through Skenfrith and Grosmont (visiting both castles) and eventually to Eywas Harold.  No pubs doing food at any point, so I continued in a circuit through Kingstone and Thruxton, back through Kilpeck to Ewyas Harold again, arr 1800.
