Cycling through the Brabant Kampina

The surroundings of Oisterwijk are the ideal base for a wonderful bike ride through nature. Expect varied landscapes, charming villages and lots of green during this route.

Starting point: Oisterwijk Get on your bike and explore the surroundings of Oisterwijk in Brabant. You start at Grill Restaurant & Café Vuur & Vlam. This restaurant is located in the center of Oisterwijk, on the edge of the woods and a stone's throw from the Kampina nature reserve. Here you can enjoy a nice lunch, drink or dinner. Or just for a nice cup of coffee with fresh pastries.

Green environment Oisterwijk is nicknamed 'the pearl in' t green '. Oisterwijk is therefore the perfect base for a nice walk or bike ride in nature. The Oisterwijkse Bossen en Vennen and the Kampina nature reserve are a stone's throw away. Today it is a wooded area, but it used to be a large vast heathland. North of Oisterwijk you will find mainly agricultural areas. You also cycle a bit through this at the end of the route.

Cycling through nature During this tour you cycle right through the Oisterwijkse Bossen and Vennen and the Kampina nature reserve. The area is densely covered with forests, extensive heathlands, mysterious pools and meandering stream valleys. Many dragonfly species float around the water and the heather is covered with many beautiful shrubs, including lavender heather. The forests consist mainly of planted pine forests, where woodpeckers and other birds hide among the trees.
