Pakilanmetsän linnoitusalue Well preserved fortress with trenches, shooting stations and rooms to protect yourself from artillery fire, that are excavated into the soil and bedrock and reinforced with concrete. The artillery-road can also be seen, if you look carefully enough. Fortress is from the chain of fortifications built by the Russians in the early 20th century to protect Helsinki. Part of the outer fortress chain built before and during the First World War, extending from Vuosaari through Malmi, Kontula, Malminkartano and Leppävaara to Toppelund.
