By bicycle from Azuga to Predeal

Ready for a scenic mountain ride? This route kicks off in Azuga, an alpine town tucked into the heart of the Prahova Valley—famous for its ski slopes and crisp mountain air. From here, you'll wind your way north toward Predeal, a popular mountain resort and the highest town in Romania.

Don’t be fooled by the 9.5 km distance—this is a rugged route with plenty of ascent and some challenging surface conditions. Most of your ride (nearly half!) is on unpaved ground, with gravel paths and dirt tracks making up the bulk of the journey, so a mountain bike is definitely your best friend here. There’s a rewarding mix of forest paths and occasional quiet roads, and you'll climb up to around 1,400 meters at the highest point.

Keep your eyes peeled for panoramic views over the Bucegi and Baiului mountains as you pedal. Once you roll into Predeal, treat yourself: you’ve just connected two of Romania’s most iconic mountain towns on one epic, adventurous ride!
