Cycling day trip from Kismaros to Diósjenő

This scenic route takes you from the charming village of Kismaros, nestled on the banks of the Danube, north into the gently rolling Börzsöny Mountains, ending at the peaceful town of Diósjenő. Expect a ride just under 35 km with some decent climbs (over 640 meters up!), making it ideal if you love a bit of a workout and forested rides.

You’ll spend much of your ride on quiet forest tracks and peaceful country roads, perfect for enjoying the fresh air and maybe spotting some wildlife. Over half the way is unpaved, so a gravel or trekking bike is your best bet, especially if you enjoy getting off the beaten path.

Kismaros is known as a gateway to hiking and outdoor adventures, while Diósjenő is surrounded by lovely hills and is a popular base for more exploration in the Börzsöny range. Be prepared for some spectacular views, shady woods, and a real sense of escape from the city bustle. Bring water and snacks—this is all about soaking in nature!
